‘She lit a candle for me’ – Baz Ashmawy says his new comedy series ‘Faithless’ is a ‘bit edgy’ for mammy Nancy

Baz Ashmawy has said his mother Nancy “isn’t the biggest fan” of his first foray into scripted TV with new comedy series Faithless.

The story of a father raising his three daughters through grief and financial struggle, Faithless was created and co-written by Ashmawy (48), who also stars in the six-episode series on Virgin Media.

Described by Ashmawy as “a bit edgy”, the show’s humour may prove to be his 51st way to kill his mammy, Nancy.
